New Domestic Markets

Have you resolved to get new customers and increase your sales but don’t know where to start?  Attendees will learn about traditional tactics to find new customers, such as changing your market reach geographically or targeting a new type of customer or industry.   We will also touch upon new trends that may just transform your marketing strategies and help you achieve your sales goals.  For example, we will explore prospects in green and sustainable products or services, needs of natural gas drilling companies, or how to embrace ever-changing consumer trends.

International Trade

While the U.S. economy is growing at a 2-3% annual rate, the emerging economies overseas are growing between 6-9% annually.  Opportunities happen where there is growth.

Now is the time to benefit from doing business overseas. Now is the time to maximize all of the help provided so you are not alone doing business overseas.   You will learn how to identify business opportunities, how to respond to inquiries, how to finance exports, and how to apply for a grant to attend a foreign trade show in your industry.

Doing Business with the Federal Government

The federal government spends over $500 billion annually on a variety of goods and services to support its operations.  Purchases by military and civilian installations include items, such as valves, brushes, paints, engine accessories, furniture and athletic equipment.  Service related procurements range from salvage and transportation services to management support and environmental services.

Attendees, at this event, will receive a basic understanding of the federal procurement process, and how to find sales opportunities.  Topics to be addressed include registrations and certifications, identifying NAICS codes, Federal Supply Class (FSC) codes and service codes, size standards and procurement opportunities.

The U.S. imports far more than exports. In 2009, the total U.S. trade deficit was $503 billion, which is $1.05 trillion in exports minus $1.55 trillion in imports.  It's a new world since 9/11. New import regulations put importers on the front line against terrorism with a series of new requirements and responsibilities. This seminar reviews these responsibilities and teaches you how to protect your company from unnecessary delays in getting your goods through Customs and avoid significant penalties.

Attend the IMPORTS SEMINAR and learn the following:

  • Legal Issues of Importing
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications and duties
  • Meet import requirements such as country of origin markings and import quotas and visas.
  • Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). A program designed to speed your import process.
