Keggle Brewing, Inc. is a new family-owned business established and operated by Terry Denham in April 2009.  Using his 25 years of management and business experience and his passion for making home-brewed beer, Terry and his wife Patricia  operate the business from their home in Glenshaw, PA.  Keggle Brewing sells complete custom-made home brewing systems and tap kits to home brewers and to home brewing supply shops.

A new website (www.kegglebrewing.com) was established to cater to the needs of home brewers throughout the United States.  Research done by the owner revealed a growing market for custom-made products designed to meet the needs of individual home-brewing enthusiasts with most of the sales growth occurring with internet-based suppliers such as Keggle Brewing.  The company also sells to home brewing supply shops and micro breweries in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Maryland & Delaware through the distribution of a wholesale catalog.  With low overhead costs, Keggle Brewing is price competitive with other suppliers and is focused on becoming known for delivering a custom-made and superior product at a fair price.  Their reputation and customer satisfaction are a core objective of the company.

Terry is appreciative of the assistance that he received from the Duquesne University SBDC and is looking forward to the challenges of his new business venture.

Assistance

Terry Denham was a participant in the Pennsylvania-sponsored Self Employment Assistance Program conducted by the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center in Pittsburgh.  At the SBDC, he received 20 hours of classroom instruction in starting a new business and individualized consulting that focused on the development of a Business Plan and Financial Projections.  He developed his website with complete product descriptions and pictures, identified a target list of home brewing supply shops, and is actively networking through memberships in national trade associations such as the American Home Brewers Association and in local home brewing clubs such as Three Rivers Underground Brewers in Pittsburgh.  Initial start-up costs of $16,000 were covered by the business owners in the form of an equity contribution.  Employment will initially be limited to the 2 owners but will likely increase as the company grows.
