Mexico USAID Ties Partnership Project
To increase trade among the states of Pennsylvania, USA, Aguascalientes, and Jalisco, Mexico. |
Programs |
- Exchange: Faculty, Business, and Consultant Exchange Programs.
- Trade Missions: Inbound and Outbound Trade Missions to Pittsburgh, Aguascalientes, in cooperation with DCED, JAL Trade, and OPEXA
- Sister City: Ongoing discussions between the cities of Pittsburgh and Aguascalientes to establish a Sister City relationship.
- Training: Ongoing Training for Businesses, Government, and Professors.
- MBA Scholarship: Four MBA students from Aguascalientes studying "Supply Chain Management".

Duquesne University's Palumbo Donahue School of Business and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) were awarded the TIES (Training, Internships, Exchanges and Scholarships) Program Grant of $300,000 USD to promote training, internships, academic exchange and scholarships, Fundamentals of US Small Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, and Urban Economic Development Training Program.

Partners
The goal will be achieved via professors' and students' academic exchange, as well as business consultants and businesses, between the Duquesne University SBDC and the SBDC’s of three Mexican universities: Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA), la Universidad de Estudios Avanzados (UNEA), Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) and CEINNOVA de Aguascalientes.
In addition, the grant will support several Trade Missions between the two countries in order to increase trade and to implement competitiveness during the next three years. |
