Joe Polk - Senior Technical Specialist, Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program

Joe Polk is a Senior Technical Specialist with the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP). He provides technology and technical assistance to organizations and businesses in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining PennTAP, Joe was a Web technology specialist with Marconi plc at the office in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. There he was responsible for serving as a liaison between the marketing and IT staffs regarding technical and programming issues for Marconi's Internet, intranet, and extranet sites. Joe was also responsible for the administration of Web traffic analysis reports that helped to quantify the effectiveness of Marconi's Internet, intranet, and extranet sites on an informational and marketing basis. These reports enabled the company to make informed decisions about how to target their e-communication efforts.

Prior to Marconi, Joe was a Web developer with Management Science Associates in Pittsburgh. His accomplishments included the implementation of MSA's first intranet, as well as a complete revamp of their corporate Internet site. Joe earned his bachelor's degree in logistics management from Duquesne University.
