Pictures of the two-day interactive workshop “Principles of Business Management for Small Business Owners”, an all-new workshop hosted by the Graduate Assistants of the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC). This workshop provided people with practical and hands-on knowledge necessary to start and operate a business successfully, equipping entrepreneurs and small business owners with fundamental business management skills. This workshop covered: Business Law Essentials – Learning the legal considerations for startups, including entity structures, contracts, intellectual property, and compliance; Supply Chain Management for Small Businesses – Understanding sourcing, logistics, and inventory management to optimize efficiency and reduce costs; Cash Flow Management – Mastering financial forecasting, budgeting, and financing strategies to maintain stability and growth; HR & Hiring for Small Businesses – Learning how to attract, onboard, and retain top talent while ensuring compliance with employment laws; Sales & Marketing Strategies – Discovering modern digital marketing trends, customer targeting, and content creation techniques to boost brand awareness; and Small Business Information Systems – Exploring essential technology tools, including CRM software, cybersecurity best practices, and website management for business success. People that attended both days, and completed the follow-up quiz/homework form received a Certificate of Completion from the Duquesne University SBDC.
