Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: DECA District III Career Development Conference

Where Ambition Meets Opportunity

Duquesne University will once again welcome high school students from across Pennsylvania's District III for the annual DECA Career Development Conference, an event dedicated to inspiring, educating, and preparing the next generation of business leaders.

Hosted by the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, the conference will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, on Duquesne University's campus. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the university has partnered with DECA to provide students with valuable opportunities for professional growth and career exploration.

DECA's mission of preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs aligns closely with Duquesne University's commitment to experiential learning, innovation, and workforce development. Throughout the conference, students will engage in activities designed to strengthen their business knowledge, leadership abilities, and professional confidence.

"We are thrilled to partner with DECA to support young leaders as they explore career pathways and develop essential business skills," said Richard A. Longo, Director of the Duquesne University SBDC. "Our goal is to create an engaging experience that connects education with real-world opportunities."

The conference provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in key business disciplines including marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through competitive events and interactive learning experiences, participants gain hands-on exposure to real-world business challenges while building the skills needed to succeed in today's evolving economy.

In addition to competition, attendees will connect with industry professionals, educators, and fellow students, creating valuable networking opportunities that can help shape future academic and career decisions.
